Advanced Communications Technology (ACT), a full-service communications solutions provider headquartered in Sheriden, WY, has focused recent efforts on growing its network and improving sales processes and standards.

“I was sending out our sales guys with folders with six to 10 pieces of paper,” said JJ McGinnis, ACT’s Marketing Coordinator. “You can dress it up, but at the end of the day, you still have a folder with papers inside.”

Something had to change.

So McGinnis, after receiving a link to RedPaperPlane.com from his boss, took action. He ordered a free sample pack to determine the quality of the products and see if any of the templates would be a good fit for his team. Eventually, he found one that he thought could work.

“It was basically entirely because of the uniqueness of the design,” he said in a phone interview. “Red Paper Plane gave us something in our marketing material that, hopefully, nobody else in our industry has or can really copy. The Large Exploding Page allowed us to completely condense all of the papers our sales reps were carrying onto one sheet.”

The Large Exploding Page was just the ticket; it was simple, yet unique.

“You just open it up and there’s the information,” he said. “You don’t have to fold it in a certain way or pull it out. The Large Exploding Page is what made sense for us. You could, you know, just throw it into a bag and not worry too much about the structural design falling apart on us.”

And this was key. According to McGinnis, the pieces were designed to be used for ACT’s trade show giveaways and to take into meetings with potential clients. Because of its design, the Large Exploding Page packs a lot of information into a small, digestible package, which is able to get a lot of attention. “People don’t read anymore; they want highlighted text and that’s about it,” he said. “So, being able to put it there and have a large graphic area for our network map fully shows the areas we cover. It kind of gave us all of that to be able to work with.”

While it’s still too soon to report on the success of the piece, McGinnis said he’s already received feedback from ACT staff members - and it’s all been positive.

“I really like it. It turned out a lot better that I thought,” he said. “I was a little worried about how it would fold, if that would impact some of the words, and it doesn’t. It looks amazing to me. I’m incredibly pleased with it. Our staff is incredibly pleased with it.”
