Dimensional print has a unique ability to surprise and delight. So, for AB Media, Inc., it’s no wonder they chose to use Red Paper Plane’s uniquely customizable templates to close the sales gap for exhibit space at their AB Show, an annual conference and trade show for the athletic, fitness and recreation industries.
Jared Bruley, the company’s former Marketing Director, Graphic Designer - Sadye Ring, Art Director - Nicole Bell, and Marketing Associate - Kate Rampone were the team that led the design of this piece. “We sought out RPP to create a direct mailer highlighting key audience stats, and the response from that piece, combined with the customer support and new ideas continually being sent our way, RPP was always front of mind,” the team said. “We were looking for something that would immediately grab the attention of prospective exhibitors in a high-end and memorable way.” The 3” Pop Up Cube was a clear winner.
In 2018, the piece received GDUSA’s American Inhouse Design Award. This honor is given to those who demonstrate the best of inhouse design, creating solutions and adding value to the nation’s commerce and culture.
“It was a fun and interactive piece that got a lot of reaction in the office and we knew we found the piece for the job!” the team said. “We had fun taking the cube around our office just to see the reaction of our coworkers – the reactions we got made our decision a no-brainer.”
The team, who was targeting some key prospects to exhibit at the conference, was looking beyond the standard postcard. They wanted to make an impression.
“Our goal was to stand out from the clutter that marketers receive every day and wanted a tangible piece that our prospects could interact with and keep within reach,” they said. “The 3” Pop Up Cube fit – and even exceeded – our need. The design allowed us to highlight important information for these prospects in an exceptional and visually pleasing way. The quality, element of surprise and uniqueness of this piece definitely make a lasting impression and are the perfect size for prospects to keep on their desk as they make budget decisions.”
